HOW TO SIZE VINTAGE GEAR

A guide to vintage gear sizing for those who need it
HOW TO SIZE VINTAGE GEAR - Gameday Grails

Vintage clothing sizes vary dramatically from decade to decade.

What was a Large in the 80's might be a Medium today.

We want you to have the best possible experience shopping with us, so we include the exact measurements for every shirt to be sure you get the proper fit.

Now, if you're used to the S/M/L/XL sizing system, you might be confused a bit. Let us explain.

Every product we sell comes with pit to pit and length (collar length, as shown in the above diagram.) To find out your perfect size:

  1. Take your favorite fitting shirt and lay it out flat.
  2. Measure across from one armpit to the other – this is your pit-to-pit measurement.
  3. Take measurements from the top of the shirt to the bottom – this is your collar to hem measurement aka the "length".
  4. Take measurements from the shoulder to the end of the sleeve – this is your sleeve length.
  5. Select the size that corresponds with your pit-to-pit measurements.
